Richard S. "Dick" McDougal, 81, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at his home in Sikeston.

He was born Oct. 1, 1923, in Bernie, son of the late Prince A. and Pansy Johnston McDougal. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II and was an insurance agent before retiring.

On June 12, 1955, he married Betty Christian, and she survives of the home.

Other survivors include one son, Prince A. McDougal of Birmingham, Ala.; two daughters, Kristi Gibbs of Kansas City and Tamara McDougal of San Diego, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant sister.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Memorial serivces will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston with Rev.Jonathan Cooney, associate pastor, officiating.

A private burial will follow at the Missouri Veteran Cemetery at Bloomfield.
