J.W. "Dub" Young

J.W. "Dub" Young, the son of the late John Wesley and Agnus Oldham Young, was born in Fagus on Nov. 15, 1925, and died at his home in Wappapello on Monday, March 7, 2005, at the age of 79.

Mr. Young was a resident of Qulin and Doniphan before moving to Wappapello in 1979. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Puxico. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

On Dec. 19, 1945, he was married to Mary "Dean" Young in Poplar Bluff, and his wife preceded him in death on Aug. 13, 2003.

Surviving are four sons, John Wayne Young and Mack Allen Young, both of Naylor, Larry Dale Young and William Michael Young, both of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Mary Jackson of Wappapello; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Virginia Craft of Hardy, Ark., Marcella Hudson of Bowling Green, Ky., and Laura Lampkin of St. Louis.

Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico with Bro. Terry Stockman of Sikeston officiating.

Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
