Thomas W. Pulliam, son of the late Thomas William and Lucy Jane Custer Pulliam, was born in Doniphan on Sept. 15, 1917, and died at his home in Essex on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at the age of 87.
Mr. Pulliam was a resident of Dexter until moving to Essex in 1952. He was a retired employee of Himmelberger-Harrison Manufacturing in Morehouse and was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Wappapello.
On June 8, 1940, he was married to Evelyn Lou Wyatt in Bloomfield. His wife preceded him in death on March 31, 2001.
Surviving are four sons, James Pulliam of Dexter, George Pulliam of Grayridge, Daniel Pulliam of Essex and Virgil Pulliam of Poplar Bluff; five daughters, Mary Northern of Dexter, Laura Heppe, Ruth Teague, Kay Etherton and Betty Lampkin, all of Essex; 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, George Pulliam of Benton, Ill.
Mr. Pulliam was preceded in death by three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. Bill Lampkin of Essex and Rev. Virgil Pulliam of Poplar Bluff officiating.
Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
