Loman Hartline

Loman Hartline, son of the late William and Pearl Pruett Hartline, was born in Dexter on Oct. 23, 1924, and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at the age of 80.

Mr. Hartline was a lifelong resident of Dexter and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned a silver star and five bronze stars.

He was first married to Bertha Yeager on Aug. 13, 1949, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 8, 1975. He then married Ruby Malloy in April of 1976, and she preceded him in death on March 23, 1992.

Surviving are three sons, Lloyd Estes of Broomfield, Colo., Jim Hartline of Dexter and David Hartline of Wichita, Kan.; three daughters, Joanne Mangum and Beverly Courter, both of Dexter, and Barbara Ray of Independence; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Frank Hartline and John Hartline, both of Batesville, Ark., and Dale Hartline of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Emma Holland and Doris Darby, both of Batesville, Ark., and Helen Harrington of Locust Grove, Ark.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Margie McGowan.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. Jean Holland of Batesville, Ark., officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery with full military rites.
