John R. Warren, the son of the late Shirley Lee and Bertha Mae Harper Warren, was born in Trimble, Tenn., on May 29, 1929, and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter on Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at the age of 75.

Mr. Warren had lived most of his life in the Dexter area. He attended the First Pentecostal Church in Dexter. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union.

On Nov, 13, 1948, he was married to Geraldine Leathers in Piggott, Ark.

Surviving are his wife, Geraldine Warren of Dexter; one son, Ricky Lynn Warren of Tona Pah, Ariz.; two daughters, Jackie Griffin of Essex and Judy Kay Harris of Dexter; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers, Lester Lee Warren of Savannah, Ga., Rev. Charles Clinton Warren of Sikeston, Bobby Joe Warren of Jonesburg, Billy Ray Warren of DeSoto, and Rev. Shirley Eugene Warren of Lee Summit; two sisters, Helen Goings of Dexter and Dolly Mae Hudson of Patton.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael John Griffin on Sept. 19, 1989.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005, at the Watkins & sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Robert Bentley of Dexter officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
