Jessie B. Young

Jessie B. Young, 69, a resident of Sikeston, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at 3:40 a.m. at the Sikeston Convalescent Center. She was born July 7, 1935, in Portageville to the late John Francis and Marillaun Maloney Brown. She was an LPN for 30 years and had worked for Dr. Grinny Ho in Sikeston for 20 years and also at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston. On July 13, 1953, at Portageville, she married Adrian Earl Young, who preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2004.

She is survived by one son, Jim Young of Matthews; two daughters, Theresa Vaughn of Terre Haute, Ind., and Lynda Young of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Billy Brown of Dexter; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2005, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005, in the Nunnelee Chapel with Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
