Sgt. Carl Dewayne Graham, Jr.
Sgt. Carl Dewayne Graham, Jr., son of Carl Dewayne Graham, Sr. of Dexter and Donna McGinley of Gideon, was born on March 3, 1968, at St. Charles and died at his residence at Van Buren on Sunday, March 20, 2005, at the age of 37.

Sgt. Graham was a member of the First Baptist Church at Mountain Grove, a 12-year veteran of the Missouri State Highway Patrol where he served as Zone 4 Commander, Troop G. Dewayne started his law enforcement career as a police officer cadet with the Dexter Police Department while in high school. He was on the Perryville Police Department while completing his degree in criminal justice and law enforcement at Southeast Missouri State University. He worked as a full-time patrolman with the Dexter Police Department from December 1990 through December 1992 when he was accepted into the Missouri State Highway Patrol Academy.

Survivors include one son, Hayden Dewayne Graham of West Plains; his father and step-mother, Carl and Beverly Graham of Dexter; his mother, Donna McGinley of Gideon; his fiancee, Cathy Crowley; his paternal grandmother, Virgie White of Dudley; his maternal grandparents, Ernie and Sue McGinley of Gideon; and his step-brother, Robert McMullin of Dexter.

Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2005, in the First Baptist Church in Dexter with Rev. Gene Edwards and Rev. Denny McGinley officiating.

Interment will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery near Clarkton.
