Dixie Hughes, the daughter of the late John Wesley and Ida Lillian Moore Dillon, was born in Morley on Aug. 29, 1913, and died at the Cypress Point Nursing Center in Dexter on Monday, March 21, 2005, at the age of 91.

Mrs. Hughes had lived in Grayridge for many years before moving to Dexter 39 years ago. She was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter.

On Oct. 21, 1930, she was married to James T. Hughes in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1997.

Surviving are one daughter, Louise Yeakey of O'Fallon; three sons, Bill Hughes of Dexter, Bob Hughes of Warrior, Ala., and Jerry Hughes of Cape Girardeau; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Lynn Zorn in 1969. Also preceding her in death were one brother and one sister.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Jimmie Trotter of Sikeston officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
