Ruth E. Hausmann, 85, of Kampsville, Ill., died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville, Ill.

She was a homemaker and worked as a cook for over 31 years at the Barefoot Bar and Restaurant in Hardin, Ill.

Born Aug. 23, 1919, in Puxico, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Grace Kanady Ross. She married Peter W. "Bill" Hausmann on April 22, 1950, and he died Jan. 30, 1974.

Surviving are four sons, Ralph (Joyce) Ogelvie and Thomas (and friend Shirley) Ogelvie, both of Dexter, Charles (Gloria) Ogelvie of Bloomfield, and Robert (Mary) Hausmann of Corcoran, Calif.; four daughters, Thelma (Ed) Foutch of Thebes, Ill., Betty (Allen) Kreiger of Troy, N.Y., Linda (Bob) Vetter of Carrollton, Ill., and Mary (Robert) Lee of Hardin, Ill.; a brother, Johnny Ross of Dexter; three sisters, Eva Steward of Dexter, Delma Pry of Bloomfield and Laverne Holt of Dexter; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Allen of Hamburg, Ill.; 30 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Tate; three brothers, Charles, Billy Joe and Donald Ross; two sisters, Helen and Thelma; and a grandson, Michael Ogelvie.

Visitation was held Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Hanks-Gubser Funeral Home in Hardin, Ill.

The funeral was conducted on Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Hanks-Gubser Funeral Home in Hardin, Ill. with Rev. Paul D. Frazier officiating. Burial was in St. Anselm Cemetery in Kampsville, Ill.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
