Mary Kathryn Newell

Mary Newell, daughter of the late Frank Arnold Graue and Lena Elizabeth Hicks Graue, was born on Aug. 11, 1928, in Mississippi and died at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at the age of 76.

Mrs. Newell was affiliated with the Calvary Baptist Church in Dexter, a housewife and a resident of Grayridge.

On Nov. 12, 1945, she was united in marriage to Bonard Newell at Jonesboro, Ark. Mr. Newell preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 2005.

Survivors include three sons, David Newell of Dexter, Terry Newell and Randy Newell, both of Grayridge; six daughters, Jennie Pulliam of Grayridge, Norma Hargrove of Dexter, Donna Pemberton of Morehouse, Glenda Kearbey, Teresa Freeland and Sandra Sugg, all of Sikeston; 26 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2005, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Danny Collins officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
