Mary Joann Woodard, the daughter of the late Eugene and Letha Metcalf Elliott, was born in Brushy Knob on June 13, 1956, and died at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff on Saturday, April 23, 2005, at the age of 48.

She had been a resident of the Springfield area for many years and moved to Dexter in 1995. She was employed at Tyson Foods in Dexter and was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter.

On Feb. 2, 2001, she was married to Paul Woodard in Dexter.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Woodard; two daughters, Jennifer Calhoun of Houston and Tracy Rayburn of Wappapello; three grandchildren; five brothers, Don Elliott of Mansfield, Kenneth Elliott of Norwood, Roy Elliott of Poplar Bluff, Dwight Elliott of Oakwood, Ga., and Richard Elliott of Ava; two sisters, Virginia Bell or Mt. Grove and Juanita Harwell of Poplar Bluff.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Bro. John Ruddick of Bloomfield officiating.

Interment will be at a later date in the Evansdale Cemetery in Evans with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
