O.F. Rodgers, son of the late Pleasant Levi Rodgers and Ida Dorris Rodgers, was born on Nov. 3, 1911, near Essex and died on Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter at the age of 93.
Mr. Rodgers was of the Baptist faith, a retired carpenter, and a resident of Dexter.
On Oct. 19, 1932, he was united in marriage to Ellen Louise Turnage at Essex. Mrs. Rodgers preceded him in death on March 30, 1997.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Floyd Rodgers of Dexter and Roy Gerald Rodgers of Wright City; one daughter, Patricia Louise Rodgers of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Samual Levi Rodgers, Wilburn Rudolph Rodgers, and Robert Rodgers; four sisters, Evelyn B. Swift, Irma I. Cook, Wilma Dowdy, and Virgie Howes; and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2005, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Kenneth Biggs and Rev. Clifford Wray officiating.
Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
