Paul Hodges, son of the late Arthur Bell Hodges, Sr. and Martha Susan Driskol Hodges, was born Oct. 26, 1925, at Parma and died in the St. Anthony's Medical Center at St. Louis on Monday, May 2, 2005, at the age of 79.
Mr. Hodges was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dexter, a former welder for General Motors in St. Louis, and a resident of Dexter.
He was united in marriage to Nana Lou Jones on Oct. 11, 1944, at Matthews. Mrs. Hodges preceded him in death on May 11, 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Doyal Hodges of St. Louis and Patrick Hodges of Overland Park, Kan.; two daughters, Paula Ulmer of Treadwell, N.Y., and Katrina Hatfield of Fenton; three sisters, Flora Ellen Jones of Clarksville, Ark., Pauline Jones of Arnold, and Alice Rhodes of California; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Darrell Hodges; two brothers, Arthur Bell Hodges, Jr. and Orville Duncan; and one sister, Pearl Bagsby.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2005, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Kohlbaker officiating. Interment will follow in the Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery at Advance.
