Theresa Ellen Calvin, 45, a resident of Sikeston, died on Saturday, May 7, 2005, at her residence in Sikeston. She was born March 25, 1960, in Norwalk, Calif., to Mildred Hinkle Proffer Elfrank of Advance and to the late Everett Proffer. She was a children's evangelist and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston where she was a former staff member and had held various positions at the church. She also held a B.A. degree in education.

On June 7, 1986, she was married to James L. "Jim" Calvin, Jr., and he survives of the home in Sikeston.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by two daughters, Amanda Lewis of Morehouse and Jennifer Payne of Jacksonville, N.C.; one brother, Anthony Proffer of Las Vegas, Nev.; two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Albert Elfrank.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2005, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at the First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston with Rev. Ron Tate, pastor of First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston, officiating.

Interment followed in the Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.

Memorials may be made to the Children's Department of the church of your choice.
