Leah McCollum

Leah Virginia McCollum, daughter of the late Marion and Lizzie Robey Curd, was born at Clines Island, Mo., on March 14, 1913, and died at Jackson, Mo., on Monday, May 16, 2005, at the age of 92.

On Sept. 13, 1930, she was united in marriage to Winzel (Jack) McCollum. He preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1976. She was a member of Beech Grove General Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy DeJournett of Essex and Joyce Matney of Fruitland; three grandchildren, Sheri DeJournett, Michael McCollum and Brenda Shackles; five great-grandchildren, Mike McCollum, Jimmy McCollum, Cross McCollum, Heather Shackles and Jason Matney; and two great-great-grandchildren, Leah Cheyene McCollum and Colton McCollum.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2005 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 19, 2005 at 2 p.m., with Cotus James officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery at Bloomfield, with arrangements by Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home.
