Bennie Buchanan

Bennie Buchanan, the son of the late Collis and Eva J. Jackson Buchanan, was born in Dexter on Aug. 4, 1935, and died at the Yuma Regional Medical Center in Yuma, Ariz., on Thursday, May 19, 2005, at the age of 69.

Mr. Buchanan had lived in Dexter most of his life and was an owner-operator of a trucking company. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion and Masonic Lodge in Bernie.

On July 26, 1952, he was married to Rebecca Moore in Pocahontas, Ark.

Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Buchanan of Dexter; one son, Rick Buchanan of Dexter; one daughter, Terri Hager of Westwood, N.J.; two brothers, William Buchanan of Inverness, Fla., and Robert Buchanan of Sikeston; and three grandchildren.
