Hubert Hill

Hubert Hill, the son of the late Joe and Addie Hill, was born in Wardell on Feb. 4, 1918, and died at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston on Friday, May 20,2005, at the age of 87.

Mr. Hill had resided in Wardell before moving to Morehouse in 1951. He was a former custodian of the Morehouse Schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Morehouse General Baptist Church and the American Legion.

On Dec. 11, 1956, he was married to Margaret Elliott in Holly Springs.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Hill of Morehouse; two sons, Rick Hill of Essex and Ted Elliott of Sikeston; two daughters, Aileen Eakers and Liz McNew, both of Morehouse; one sister, Aline Scott of Morehouse; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Sonny Elliott and Tommy Elliott; one grandson; three brothers; and three sisters.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Morehouse with Rev. Frank Breeden of Morehouse officiating.

Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Morehouse in charge of arrangements.
