Davonte Lafonse Handy, the son of Ben Handy and Dara Vaughn, was born in Poplar Bluff on Dec. 31, 2004, and died at the St. Louis Children's Hospital in St. Louis on Thursday, May 26, 2005, at the age of 4 months.

Surviving are his father, Ben Handy of Dexter; his mother, Dara Vaughn, of Dexter; one brother, Damian Handy of Dexter; maternal grandfather, Larry Vaughn of Bloomfield; maternal grandmother, Linda Vaughn of Dexter; and maternal great-grandmother, Christine Schacherbaur of Dexter.

Visitation was held from 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside funeral service was conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005, in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Dexter with Rev. Daniel Martin of Dexter officiating.

Interment followed in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of local arrangements.
