Russell O. Stilts, 82, of Weatherford, Texas, formerly of Advance, was born Sept. 22, 1922, at Cape Girardeau, the son of the late Joseph Frederick and Pearl Marie Stilts Cato, and died June 2, 2005, at Campbell Health Systems in Weatherford, Texas.

Russell retired as a machinist from Wagner Electric Corp. in St. Louis County.

Russell and Irene Fowler were united in marriage on Sept. 19, 1942, at Benton, and she preceded him in death on May 11, 1996.

Survivors include three daughters, Jeranda Miller of Branson West, Sheryl Enloe of Weatherford, Texas, and Karen Abbott of Sikeson; a brother, Glendal Stilts of Florissant; a half-brother, James Stilts of Seattle, Wash.; two half-sisters, Carolyn Stilts Stephens of Gipsy and Patricia Stilts Davis of Puxico; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by four infant siblings and a great-grandson.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2005, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2005, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance with Rev. Gary Cooper officiating.

Interment will follow at Berrong Cemetery in Gipsy.
