Annetta Varble

Annetta Varble, daughter of the late Ernest and Nora Pike Williams, was born in Uniontown, Ky., on Sept. 28, 1907, and died at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on June 13, 2005, at the age of 97.

Mrs. Varble had lived in Leora community most of her life. She and her husband had owned and operated a store in Leora. She was a member of the Leora Missionary Baptist Church and the Puxico Eastern Star.

On Nov. 3, 1924, she was married to Ralph Varble in Stoddard County. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1982.

Surviving are one son, Paul D. Varble of Arnold; one daughter, Mary Lou Koetting of Bloomfield; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one sister, Eleanor Bridwell of Sikeston.

She was preceded in death by one son, Tony Varble; three brothers, Andrew, Dupree, & Romuald Williams; and three sisters, Mary Bell Clippard, Gertrude Pixley, and Augusta Williams.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2005, at 7 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Vaughn Wright of Dexter officiating.

Interment will be on Friday, June 17, 2005, at 10 a.m. in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
