Richard "Red" Arnold, son of the late Hobert Allen and Severina Corso Arnold, was born in Christopher, Ill., on Aug. 6, 1940, and died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at the John J. Pershing Medical Center in Poplar Bluff at the age of 64.

Mr. Arnold was a former resident of Illinois before moving to Dexter 27 years ago. Mr. Arnold was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving two years during the Vietnam War. He was a retired farmer and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Surviving are his significant other of 27 years, Lillian Orton of Dexter; also the children he helped raise: Randy Orton, Tina Davis and Shannon Noall, all of Dexter; one brother, Roy Arnold of Golconda, Ill.; two sisters, Gracie Lane of Goreville, Ill., and Mary Ann Schuchardt of Simpson, Ill.; five granddaughters, Nichole Jarrett, Kourtney Orton, Ashley Orton, Breanna Noall and Santana Noall; four grandsons, Matt Jarrett, Randy Orton, David Orton, and Brandon Orton.

Visitation was held from 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were then conducted at 10:30 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. Paul Seegraves of Williamsville officiating.

Interment followed in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with full military honors provided by the Stoddard County Veterans Honor Team. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter was in charge of arrangements.
