Grace M. Darby, the daughter of the late Louis and Effie Branson Grim, was born in Frisco on Nov. 30, 1906, and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Friday, June 24, 2005, at the age of 98.

She had lived most of her life in Essex. She had worked as a machine operator at Elder's Manufacturing. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Essex.

On May 22, 1926, she was married to John Albert Darby in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1987.

Surviving are one son, James Darby of Dexter; one daughter, Virginia Louise Weiher of St. Charles; one brother, Floyd Grim of Dexter; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy Farrar in 1999; four brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be held after 11 a.m. until service time Monday, June 27, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. Jerry Darby of Malden officiating.

Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements. On-line condolences may be sent to the family at www.watkinsfuneralhome.com
