Eddie Parris, son of the late Walter Ted Parris and Helen Virginia Nimmo Paris, was born on Oct. 8, 1953, at Vinson and died in the Gateway Regional Medical Center at Granite City, Ill., on Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at the age of 51.

Survivors include one son, Brandon Parris of New Orleans, La.; one daughter, Amanda Parris of Oklahoma; five brothers, Ralph Glyn Parris of Land O'Lakes, Fla., Dennis Parris of Granite City, Ill., Michael Parris of Perryville, Keith Parris of Charleston, and Kevin Parris of St. Louis; five sisters, Faye Lenderman and Gwen Schock, both of O'Fallon, Joan Lowe of Malden, Bonnie Stinson of Dexter, and Patsy Hughes of Puxico.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Parris and Rebecca Parris.

Visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2005, at the Dexter Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Breland officiating.
