Larry Elmer Henderson, son of Alberta Casey Henderson of Dexter and the late Elmer "Shorty" Henderson, was born on December 15, 1946 at Dexter and died in the St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau on July 1, 2005 at the age of 58.

Mr. Henderson attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Dexter and was a former truck driver for Gilster Mary-Lee, a veteran of the United States Navy serving in Vietnam. He was a resident of Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Joanna Liles on May 13, 1968 at Circle City. Mrs. Henderson survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, survivors include one son, Mike Henderson, of Cape Girardeau; his mother, Alberta Henderson, of Dexter; one sister, Peggy Miller, of Essex; and on grandson, Layne Henderson.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Larry Elmer Henderson II.

Visitation will be at the Rainey-Mathis funeral home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m., Monday, July 4, 2005. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2005 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter. The family has not yet decided who will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
