Charles William "Bill" Poeppelmeyer, son of the late Earnest and Gertrude Hurley Poeppelmeyer, was born at East Prairie on Sept. 17, 1933, and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Saturday, July 9, 2005, at the age of 71.
Mr. Poeppelmeyer had spent most of his life in the Bloomfield community; he was a retired farmer and restaurant owner. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the V.F.W., AMVETS, the Stars and Stripes and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield.
Survivors include one son, Charles Poeppelmeyer, Jr. of Dexter; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and James Poeppelmeyer; and three sisters, Pauline Poeppelmeyer, Ellen Fleurdelys and Mary Miller.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2005, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Ron Webb and Rev. David Hardin officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery with full military rites by the Stoddard County Honor Guard.
