Flora Bell White
Flora Bell White, daughter of the late James "Poppy" and Minnie Ethel Newell Grim, was born in Parma on Aug. 15, 1918, and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter on July 15, 2005, at the age of 86.

Mrs. White had lived in Michigan for 40 years and moved to Essex in 1990. She was a member of the Apostolic Church of Christ in Pontiac, Mich. and attended the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Essex.

On Aug. 29, 1936, she was married to LeRoy White in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1999.

Surviving are five sons, Robert White of Kokomo, Ind., Bob White of Davisburg, Mich., Bill White of Lake Orion, Mich., Earl and Lindle White both of Ponitac, Mich.; four daughters, Geraldine Barker of Mio, Mich., Sue White of Bloomfield, Barbara Barton of Pontiac, Mich., and Joyce Jenkinson of Clarkston, Mich.; 28 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; two sisters, Pansy Woodruff and Louise Johnson both of Dexter.

She was preceded in death by one son, Vernon Lee White.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at 10 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Todd White of Cicero, Ind. officiating.

Interment followed in the Essex Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.watkinsfuneralhome.com.
