Mr. Ray had lived in Cape Girardeau for 30 years and had resided in Dexter the past 17 months. He was retired from Sam's Club #6479 in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Cape Girardeau and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
On Sept. 14, 1962, he was married to Dorthey JoAnn Baker at Poplar Bluff.
Surviving are his wife, JoAnn Ray of Dexter; one son, Kenneth Ray of Dexter; three daughters, Teresa Cook, Malinda Hill and Donni Clubb, all of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Ray of Dexter, Glenn Billings of McRae, Ark.; and three sisters, Geneva Seeds of Oxford, Mich., Brenda Presson of Rector, Ark., and Dean Anderson of Black Oak, Ark.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Masonic services will be conducted at 7 p.m. by the Cape Girardeau Lodge.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Pastor Cletus Patterson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.
Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
