Interment followed in the Garden Chapel of Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Summers was born March 20, 1930, in Bernie to David Berlin and Lottie Madge Machen Summers and died Sunday afternoon, July 31, 2005, at his home after a short battle with cancer.
He lived in Bernie where he graduated from Bernie High School. Later he joined the United States Air Force in October 1950 serving in Germany during his tour of duty.
On May 7, 1952, he married Mary Jo Vine in Tunica, Mich.
He was an elder and pastor of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Summers of the home; a son, Randy Summers of Lindsay, Okla.; two daughters, Kelly Nave and Penny Shepard, both of Enid; eight grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Swafford of Bernie;
He was preceded in death by four brothers; one sister; and a daughter.
