Glen Duckworth

Glen E. Duckworth, son of the late Earl "Tump" Duckworth and Verna "Susie" Escue Duckworth, was born July 14, 1935, at Dexter and died in the St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau on Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at the age of 70.

Mr. Duckworth was a supervisor at the Department of Correction in the Probation and Parole Office, a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, verteran of the Air Force, and a resident of Dexter.

He was first united in marriage to Joy Johnson at Essex on Aug. 18, 1953. Mrs. Duckworth preceded him in death on March 22, 1989. On Jan. 12, 1990, he was united in marriage to Andrea Lind in Dexter. Mrs. Duckworth survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, Andrea Duckworth of Dexter, other survivors include one daughter, Regina Duckworth of Jackson; one step-son, Mark Kirkbride of Olathe, Kan.; one step-daughter, Laura Kirkbride of St. Louis; and one brother, Kenneth Duckworth of Flint, Mich.

Visitation was held from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral HOme in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Gerald Beam officiating.

Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery.
