Miranda Celeste Dowdy, daughter of Cynthia Dowdy of Poplar Bluff, was born on Jan. 8, 1993, at Poplar Bluff and died near Acorn Ridge on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at the age of 12.

Miranda attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Poplar Bluff, had completed her sixth grade year in the Poplar Bluff School District and was a resident of Poplar Bluff.

Survivors include her mother, Cynthia Dowdy of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Joseph Dowdy of Poplar Bluff; her grandmother, Lovena Dowdy of Poplar Bluff; and her grandfather, Jim Lykins of Circle City.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Jesse Lacy officiating.

Interment followed in the Essex Cemetery.
