Criss Ward

Master Sergeant Criss Ward, son of Joyce McComb Ward of Cherokee Village, Ark., and the late James Eugene Ward, was born on Nov. 4, 1948, at Piggott, Ark., and died in the residence of his mother-in-law at Dexter on Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, at the age of 56.

Master Sergeant Ward was of the Baptist faith, on active duty with the Missouri National Guard in Jefferson City, a resident of Jefferson City, formerly of Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Rosie Grubbs on Feb. 16, 1968, at Dexter. Mrs. Ward survives of the home in Jefferson City.

Besides his wife and mother, survivors include three daughters, Michelle Razer of Campbell, Teresa Braden of Sikeston and Crystal Crane of Clever; four brothers, Rev. Dennis Ward of Poplar Bluff, Roger Ward of Sikeston, Richard Ward of Cherokee Village, Ark., and Robert Ward of Dexter; and one sister, Debra Bissey of Labadie; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005, in the First Baptist Church at Dexter with Rev. Dennis Ward officiating.

Interment will follow in the in the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter.
