John Robert Robertson, Sr.

as born June 8, 1931, in Gideon, the son of Willie D. Robertson and Alpha Mae Prince Robertson, and died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at his residence in Malden.

On Dec. 12, 1954, he was united in marriage to Marcella Nadine Sandusky at Hernando, Miss.

He had worked for Pepsi Cola for 30 years and retired from the Malden schools in March after 15 years. He ws a member of Spoonerville Baptist Church in Malden, having served as deacon and teaching Sunday School for many years.

Survivors include one son, John Robert Robertson of Lakewood, Colo.; two daughters, Shelby Gay Earnheart of Malden and Kristy Lynn Robertson McMunn of Malden; four granddaughters; one great-grandson; six step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Willie Edward Robertson of Dixon, Ill.; three sisters, Norma Church of Ft. Myers, Fla., Shirley Aaron of Dellwood, and Francis Paul of Malden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Helen Grace; and two brothers, Clifford and Clarence Robertson.

Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, at Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with Rev. Richard Blagg and Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.

Interment followed at Bernie Cemetery.
