Leonia May Patterson, the daughter of the late Joe Cecil and Beulah Smith Hyatt, was born in Johnson County, Ark., on June 11, 1914, and died at the Beverly Health & Rehab Center in Bloomfield on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at the age of 91.

Mrs. Patterson had lived in the Grayridge area most of her life.

On Feb. 14, 1940, she was married to John Henry Patterson. He preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 1960.

Surviving are five daughters, Ann P. Gray of Panama City, Fla., Sue Barnett of Essex, Glenda Hogan of Grayridge, Shirley Bowling of Bloomfield, and Sharon Copeland of Clines Island; one son, David Gene Patterson of Orville, Calif.; one sister, Dorothy Carter of Prague, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, John Edward and Jimmie Dale Patterson on May 30, 1968, and George W. "Bill" Patterson on Oct. 11, 2004; and one sister, Margie Johnson in 1990.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Ronnie Ledbetter of Essex officiating.

Interment will follow in the Taylor Cemetery near Essex with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
