Patricia Johnson
Patricia Louise Owens Johnson, daughter of the late Orlie and Esley Stephens Owens, was born on Feb. 21, 1930, in Stoddard County and died in her home from cancer on Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at the age of 75.

Pat was a lifelong resident of the Bernie area, graduated from Bernie High School in 1948, was active in the Bernie Alliance Church where she served as deaconess and taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed volunteering at the Bootheel Youth Museum.

On Feb. 25, 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Johnson. They operated the J&B Grocery in Bernie for a number of years.

Survivors include her husband, Bob, of the home; one son, Robert Lee Johnson, Jr. of Bernie; two daughters, Rebecca Joann Edmonds and Brenda Jean Buchanan, both of Bernie; seven grandchildren, Alicia Kay Edmonds Placher of Puxico, Amy Nicole Johnson of Kansas City, Kan., Ian Edward Edmonds of Temple, Texas, Brandi Buchanan Meese of Bernie, Daniel Lee Edmonds of Las Vegas, Nev., Robert Dewayne Johnson and Keaton David Johnson, both of Bernie; four great-grandchildren, Cody, Will, Madalyn, and Tristan; two sisters, Amy Green and Theetta Cokley, both of Bernie; four brothers, Buford Owens of Malden, Jerry Owens, Bill Owens and Reuben Owens, all of Bernie; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Cletus Patterson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Bernie Alliance Church.
