Herbert Cleo Rhine
Herbert Cleo Rhine, son of Elsie Bolden Rhine and the late Cleo "Joe" Rhine, was born in Mt. Clements, Mich., on Aug. 18, 1949, and died at his home in Bloomfield on Aug. 18, 2005, at the age of 56.

Mr. Rhine was a carpenter and had lived in Bloomfield all of his life. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he was highly decorated.

Surviving are his mother, Elsie Rhine of Dexter; two brothers, Joe B. Rhine of Dexter and Jamie Paul Rhine of Fort Branch, Ind.; three sisters, Genele Snyder of Dexter, Mary Virginia Horkey of Rapid City, S.D., and Peggy Norma Hughey of Olathe, Kan.

He was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Allen Rhine in 2001.

Visitation was held after 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Military graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with the Rev. Karen Oldham of Dexter officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with the Stoddard County Veterans Honor Team conducting military services.

Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
