Brent Alan Robinson
Brent Alan Robinson, son of Alan Robinson and Jeanie Averett Robinson of Dexter, was born on June 28, 1983, at Poplar Bluff and died near Dexter on Sept. 3, 2005, at the age of 22.

Brent was a senior at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, a 2001 graduate of Bernie Senior High School where he was active in the Future Farmers of America, Beta Club and basketball. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to music, sports, riding four-wheelers and helping others. He was a friend to many, always available to jump a battery or pull someone out of a ditch.

Survivors include his parents, Alan and Jeanie Robinson of Dexter; one sister and brother-in-law, Dawn and Daniel Smathers of Piggott, Ark.; his maternal grandmother, Fannie Averett of Dexter; his paternal grandparents, F.L. and Helen Robinson of Dexter; his uncles and aunts, Brenda Robinson of Dexter, Marty and Lynne Averett of Dexter, Jane and Leon Smith of Dexter, and Kim and Jay Monteer of Raymore; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Kenneth Averett, Jr.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Stan Dauck officiating.

Interment followed in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.

Memorials may be made to the Future Farmers of American at the Bernie Senior High School in Bernie.
