Stephanie Kay Botsch and Michael Lee Aul were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, in the Bernie United Methodist Church.
Parents of the couple are Mr. And Mrs. Cecil Weeks and the late Neal Botsch of Bernie and Mr. And Mrs. Paul Aul of Daleville, Ala.
Rev. Susan Marner-Sides officiated the ceremony. Helen Botsch, the bride's great-aunt was the organist for the ceremony and Karen Smelser was the soloist. Brad Botsch, brother of the bride, escorted the bride down the aisle. The bride's gown featured a pearl and beaded satin bodice with a plain white skirt and a cathedral-length train. A circle of pearls and beads held the shoulder-length veil in place. She carried white hydrangeas, white roses and white calla lilies.
The bride's sister, Tara Zeller of Jackson, N.C., was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Emily Moore of Chicago, Ill., Nicole Palmer of Bernie and Tracy Botsch, sister-in-law of the bride, of Bernie. The bride's attendants wore two-piece satin dresses, which featured a bodice of white satin accented with a purple ribbon at the waist and a long purple skirt.
Jeff Aul, brother of the bridegroom, of Daleville, Ala.. was the best man. Groomsmen were Tony Bencina of St. Louis, Phong Thach of Troy, N. Y., and Ricky Garcia of Enterprise, Ala. The bridegroom and Thach wore their military service dress uniforms. The remaining bridegroom's attendants wore traditional black tuxedos with black vests and black neckties.
The bride's mother wore a pink silk shantung dress with matching jacket that was accented with crystal beads. She carried a single purple and white lily.
The bridegroom's mother wore a periwinkle blue dress with a beaded bodice and silk skirt. She also carried a purple and white lily.
A reception was held at the Bernie Community Center with Karen Miller, aunt of the bride, Harriet Polleschultz, aunt of the bride, Barb Dawson, Pat Moore and Barb Lee serving as assistants. Sally Dirks was the wedding director. Norman Swafford took the pictures for the wedding.
The bride is a 2000 Bernie High School graduate and a 2004 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor of science degree in communications sciences and disorders. She is a graduate student at Southwest Missouri State University and plans to graduate in May 2006 with a master's degree in speech-language pathology.
The bridegroom is a 1997 graduate of Daleville (Ala.) High School and a 2001 graduate of Troy State University with a bachelor of science degree in criminology. He is a captain in the United States Air Force and a flight commander at Air University at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Ala.
The couple plans to make their home in Prattville, Ala., following a honeymoon trip to Hawaii.
