Miss Katy Michelle Deardorff and Mr. Gregary Brent Tarbutton were united in marriage at a destination wedding on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at six o'clock in the afternoon at The Grand Hotel and Resort in Point Clear, Ala.

Miss Deardorff is the daughter of Gary and Donna Deardorff of Bloomfield. Her grandparents are Jesse and Flo Deardorff of Aid, H.M. and Betty Richmond, Deane Kirby and the late Duane Kirby, all of Bloomfield.

Mr. Tarbutton is the son of Debbie Perron of Bauxite, Ark., Danny and Karen Johnson and Terry and Barbara Tarbutton, all of Wynne, Ark. His grandparents are John and Donna Tarbutton of Forrest City, Ark., Merlene Looney of Fair Oaks, Ark., Nadine Johnson of Wynne, Ark., and the late Doris Tarbutton. He is the great-grandson of Hazel Taylor of Colt, Ark.

Presiding as guestbook attendants were Jennifer Barnes of Dexter, cousin of the bride, and Jordan James of Fairhope, Ala., cousin of the bridegroom. Program attendants were Lexie and Lauren Barnes of Dexter, cousins of the bride, and Mallory Tarbutton of Wynne, Ark., sister of the bridegroom.

Ushers for the ceremony were Mark Domyan of O'Fallon, brother-in-law of the bride; Cort Calkins of Fayetteville, Ark., college friend of the bridegroom; and Josh Dooley of Forrest City, Ark., childhood friend of the bridegroom.

The harpist, Odessa Hatfield of Mobile, Ala., played "Beethoven's #5" during the seating of the grandparents and parents. During the processional of the wedding party, the harpist played "Canon in D". Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Jill Domyan of O'Fallon. Bridesmaids included Hillary Bird of Tulsa, Okla., college friend of the bride, and Emily Gisi of Memphis, Tenn., cousin of the bride.

Eric Vaught of Cherry Valley, Ark., college friend of the bridegroom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jason Pedigo of Jonesboro, Ark., college friend of the bridegroom, and Mickey King of Wynne, Ark., childhood friend of the bridegroom.

Miss Deardorff was given in marriage by her father. She wore a Watters and Watters gown and her hair was upswept with stephanotis flowers. Her bouquet consisted of a round cluster of stephanotis and ivory roses.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance were held on the patio overlooking the Mobile Bay at the resort. Reception guests dines on a buffet of seafood and enjoyed the bride's and bridegroom's cakes. The bridegroom's cake was designed as a golf bag with the bridegroom's monogram.

Following the introduction of the new couple and their first dance, Eric Vaught and Jill Domyan toasted the couple. The couple was given a special toast by Judge Adrian Jones of Bay Minette, Ala., who united the couple in marriage. Music for the reception was provided by The Gents from Amory, Miss.

The night before the wedding, friends and family were welcomed to Point Clear, Ala., with a shrimp boil hosted by the bridegroom's aunt, Nancy Hendren. The guests were entertained by The Gents.

The couple will be making their home in Little Rock, Ark. Mrs. Tarbutton is a 1997 graduate of Bloomfield High School and a graduate of Arkansas State University with degrees in psychology and early childhood education. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She is employed as a kindergarten teacher at Fox Meadow Elementary School. Mr. Tarbutton is a 1999 graduate of Wynne High School and will graduate from Arkansas State University with a degree in civil engineering in December 2005. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He is employed with Carter-Burgess Engineering Firm in Little Rock.
