Mr. Heiligtag lived in St. Louis until moving to Puxico seven years ago. He enjoyed racing cars and fishing. He was a heavy equipment operator with Perkins Contracting in St. Louis and a member of Local Union #513.
On Aug. 19, 1996, he was married to Marilyn Payton in Corning, Ark.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Heiligtag of Puxico; three sons, Donald Heiligtag of St. Louis, Wayne Heiligtag of Villa Ridge, and Michael Heiligtag of Deland, Fla.; two daughters, Maureen Crocker of Belgrade, and Janice Ford of House Springs; one step-son, Troy Fairies of Troy; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marjorie Smith of Park Hills.
Visitation will be held after 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at 12:30 p.m. at the Puxico Cemetery with the Rev. Wiley McGhee of Puxico officiating.
Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
