Vivian Lee Statler, daughter of the late Leonard and Ophra Walker Rose, was born in Stoddard County on March 20, 1929, and died at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at the age of 76.

Mrs. Statler spent the first part of her life in the Bloomfield community. She was affiliated with the Christian and Trinity United Methodist Churches, Girl and Boy Scouts of America, Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, along with other community organizations. She retired from the Western Electric Company in February 1989 after 20 years' service.

Survivors include two sons, Dan Statler of Benedict, Neb., and Don Statler of Peoria, Ill.; two daughters, Paulette Statler Wachter of Milan, Italy, and Mary Ann Statler Tipton of St. Louis; and two grandsons.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul.

Visitation will be held from 12 noon until time of services on Saturday, October 1, 2005, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Gaines officiating.

Interment will follow in the North Antioch Cemetery near Bloomfield.
