Vestia Estell Berry McElvoy

Vestia Estell Berry McElvoy died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at Gideon Care Center.

She was born on Jan. 29, 1913, at Frisbee. On Oct. 5, 1929, she was united in marriage to John Paul Berry, who preceded her in death on June 29, 1977. On July 16, 1983, she was married to V.M. McElvoy.

She was preceded in death by four sons, Richard, Wilburn, Leonard and William Berry; and one grandson.

Survivors include V.M. McElvoy of Malden; four sons, Dallas Berry of Malden, James Berry of Arnold, Sherman Berry of Dexter, and Thomas Berry of O'Fallon; one daughter, Anna Lou Bienhoff of Fairmont, Ill.; three step-sons, Marvin McElvoy of Springfield, Eudell McElvoy of Kansas City, and Jack McElvoy of Wappapello; one step-daughter, Lucretia Stanley of Sikeston; two sisters, Lou Tabb of Broseley, and Beatrice Kilgore of Stafford, Ariz.; four brothers, Fred Stratton of Broseley, Everett Stratton, J.L. Stratton, and Myrlen Stratton, all of Poplar Bluff; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 32 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held after 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at Bradshaw Funeral Chapel in Malden with Rev. Roger Wooten and Rev. James Bolin officiating.

Interment followed in Memorial Park Cemetery; at Malden.
