Mr. Galey was a retired core driller for the Army Corps of Engineers, a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean War, a former resident of Dudley, currently of Dexter.
He was united in marriage to Mary June Thurman on Aug. 21, 1952, at Piggott, Ark. Mrs. Galey preceded him in death on Oct. 8, 1999.
Survivors include one son, Dewayne Galey of Cookeville, Tenn.; one daughter, Teresa Diane Mann of Dexter; one sister, Elwanda O'Dell of Santa Ana, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lehman Galey.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clifford Wray and Rev. Greg Meadows officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ash Hill Cemetery.
