Mr. McNew had been a resident of Morehouse all his life. He was an auto mechanic and retired from Good Humor-Breyers on Dec. 31, 2001. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
On June 25, 1965, he was married to Elizabeth "Liz" Elliott in Sikeston.
Surviving are his wife, Liz McNew of Morehouse; one son, Corey McNew of Kelso; one grandson; his father, I.B. McNew, Sr. of Morehouse; three sisters, Shirley Tate of Dexter, Audrey King of Morehouse, and Phyllis Parker of Sikeston.
He was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Dean McNew on April 21, 1971.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Morehouse with the Rev. Tom McCanless of Kewanee officiating.
Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories in Sikeston with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Morehouse in charge of arrangements.
