Harvey "Gene" Thomason

Gene Thomason, son of the late John Harvey Thomason and Flossie Drucilla Evans Thomason, was born on June 22, 1929, at Green County, Ark., and died on Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, in the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dexter at the age of 76.

Mr. Thomason was a veteran of the United States Army, a mechanic for Autry Morlan Chevrolet in Dexter, and a resident of Dexter.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth Wayne Thomason of Bloomfield; one daughter, Tonya Renee Bailey of Dexter; two brothers, Dewayne Thomason of Middleton, Wis., and Bobby Thomason of Elkton, Md.; three sisters, Jewell Batchelor of Malden, Faye Peacock and Pat Thomason, both of Dexter; and three grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Thomason.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Keith Myers officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
