Frank Sedlacek, son of the late Frank John Sedlacek and Josephine Johansen Sedlacek, was born on April 6, 1926, at Jackson, Miss., and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center at Dexter on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at the age of 79.
Mr. Sedlacek was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering. He had worked for Alcoa Aluminum in Iowa, South America and Pennsylvania. He retired from Federal Mogul at Malden in 1989. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served from 1944-1946 as a communication specialist. He enjoyed working in his yard, flowers, hunting, golf and coin collecting.
He was united in marriage to Harriet Roster on Sept. 6, 1952, at Valley Park. Mrs. Sedlacek survives of the home in Dexter.
Besides his wife, survivors include one son, Gary Sedlacek of Jefferson Hills, Penn.; one daughter, Karen Veerkamp of Sugar Land, Texas; two grandchildren, Jimmy Veerkamp and Emily Veerkamp; four nephews, Douglas Sedlacek, Carl Sedlacek, James Sedlacek and Jerry Sedlacek.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Martin Sedlacek; one sister, Charlotte McCormick.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Louis J. Lowe officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
