Norman Scott Gaines
Norman Scott Gaines, son of Helen Carney Gaines of Dexter and the late Woodrow Gaines, was born on Sept. 28, 1949, at Poplar Bluff and died on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, in Bexar County at San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 56.

Mr. Gaines was a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of the Masonic Lodge in St. Mary, a 32nd degree Shriner in St. Louis, member of the American Legion Post #0133 in Perryville, of the Baptist faith, and a resident of Perryville.

Besides his mother, Helen Gaines of Dexter, survivors include two daughters, Kelli Gaines and Ashleigh Briscoe, both of Dexter; two grandchildren; also by a loving companion, Dolly Lowes of Perryville.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday evening.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, with Dr. John Carney officiating in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery at Dexter.
