He had lived near Dexter all of his life. He was a retired truck driver and was a member of the Ark of Hope Church near Dexter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne.
On June 11, 1950, he was married to Lola Corlew in Piggott, Ark.
Surviving are his wife, Lola McCollough of Dexter; one son, Charles McCollough of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Connie Pruitt of Dexter; four grandchildren, Christy and Danny Sindle of Dexter, Joe McCollough of Phoenix, Ariz., Melody and Joe Patrick of Bloomfield, and Jessica McCollough of Phoenix, Ariz; one great-granddaughter, Hanna Patrick of Bloomfield; and one sister, Louise Welch of Dexter.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Louie McCollough.
Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at the Ark of Hope Church near Dexter.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, in the Ark of Hope Church with the Rev. David Hardin of Dexter and Bro. Jerry Cooper of Bloomfield officiating.
