Lee A. "Dick" Martin, son of the late John C. Martin and Maude Ice Martin, was born on Oct. 2, 1920, at Dexter and died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, in the Mark Twain Manor at Bridgeton at the age of 85.
Mr. Martin was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Dexter, a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army, the former owner of Martin Brothers Service Station in Dexter, a former resident of Dexter currently residing in St. Charles, and a member of the American Legion.
He was united in marriage to Anna Marie Baker on Aug. 27, 1940, at Piggott, Ark. Mrs. Martin survives of the home in St. Charles.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Schott of Belleville, Ill., and Brenda Ward of St. Peters; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Milo Martin, Russell Martin and Clyde Martin; and one sister, Helen Daniel.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Vaughn Wright officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
