Kathryn Lucille Matthews

Kathryn Lucille Matthews, daughter of Madge Brown Noyes of Cape Girardeau and the late Drexel Noyes, was born on March 22, 1939, at Parma and died in her residence near Dexter on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at the age of 66.

Mrs. Matthews was a member of the New Hope General Baptist Church near Essex; a 33-year employee of the Production Credit Association where she worked as bookkeeper and a resident of rural Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Jimmie Dale Matthews on June 20, 1959, at Dexter and to this union one son was born. Mr. Matthews survives of the home near Dexter.

Besides her husband, survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Rena Matthews of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Katie Matthews and Jessica Matthews, both of Hillsboro; her mother, Madge Noyes of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Robert Noyes of Bloomfield; three sisters, Susan James of Springfield, Ill., Cheryl Sandage of Bloomfield, and Melanie Dreiman of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

Visitation was held from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dan Sitze officiating.

Interment followed in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Preferred Hospice in Dexter.
