Lela Pauline Mann, daughter of the late Paul Chambers and Eveco Hughes Chambers, was born May 14, 1917, at Benton, Ky., and died in the Cypress Point Healthcare in Dexter Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at the age of 88.

Mrs. Mann had been a cook at the Dudley school, had cleaned houses and was a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Lowell Mann on Nov. 7, 1937, at New Madrid. He preceded her in death Aug. 7, 1996.

Survivors include six daughters, Alice Burns of Lonedell, Barbara Griesmer of Jacksonville, Ark., Verta Faye Bass of Arnold, Jo Temples of Dudley, Patsy Ashlock and Etheleen Montgomery, both of Dexter; 29 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by three daughters, Imogene Parks, Regina Mann and Pauline McCollom.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Lester Clayton officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
